Product Description

Fused Zirconia is produced by smelting high-grade zircon sand (ZrSiO₄) in an electric arc furnace with a carbon reducing agent. Through high-temperature carbothermic reduction, zircon sand decomposes to produce zirconia (ZrO₂) and silica, with the latter being removed during the process. The material offers a unique combination of high-temperature and mechanical properties: extremely high melting point, good thermal stability, high hardness, high toughness, and excellent wear resistance. It is chemically stable in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres, and exhibits strong corrosion resistance against many molten metals and slags
